codecs and how to rejoin video parts
nearly all of my videos are encoded to xvid and need the xvid codec installed to play them,if you download it from here http://www.divx-digest.com/software/xvid.html and install you can play the videos in WMP,some use the divx codec http://www.divxmovies.com/software/ which when installed also alows you to play in WMP,videos have been split into parts using virtualdub and will join perfectly using it, download here http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/ and heres a guide to rejoin here http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/virtualdub_join_avi.cfm

"What about this alternative:go tohttp://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htmdownload and install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.59 and then 1.59 update 2006-09-25.Or whatever later version in the future.Then you get also Media Player Classic (included in the codec pack), with those codecs installed, it will play all the video files including Quick Time and Real Video, and Flash videos as well.You don't even have to have Real Player or Real One or whatever its name now is, or QuickTime installed on your PC at all.And, of course, it will play mpeg-4 avc/h.264 encoded videos in whatever container type they might be.They have the best compression ratio, but also, arguably, provide the best quality for sports videos,at least some sports-oriented codec comparison tests tend to prove that.WMP is still needed for DRM protected videos, though. K-Lite mega pack has codec configuration tools included, to enable/disable or reconfigure various codecs, you may need toenable Microsoft ADPCM codec if there is no sound (it may be disabled by default), and some of johnoo's videos use it."
